Evaluate the surface in real conditions
Look at samples in sunlight and shade, and discuss the finish for the intended application. A light or textured appearance does not establish a measured surface temperature or wet-slip performance.

Treat drainage as part of the design
Rainwater needs a planned route. Ask the installer to review levels, surrounding ground, drainage details and the pavement construction for your property.
Gaps between ordinary pavers do not, on their own, make a system permeable or suitable for flood management. Do not substitute a general material description for a specified drainage design.
Plan for cleaning and maintenance
Leaves, soil, spills and daily traffic can change the appearance of an outdoor surface. Follow compatible care guidance and ask whether sealing is appropriate for the selected paver and exposure.
If a unit is damaged, replacement may be possible. Check the underlying cause and the availability of a suitable match before treating it as a simple cosmetic repair.
