Plan the deck and pool edge together.

Consider the pool tile, coping and surrounding deck as one palette. The Ivory travertine installation shown here is a useful reference for how paving meets a curved pool edge. Plan coping dimensions and transitions with your pool professional before ordering.

Compare the exact finish and color in sample form, including underfoot comfort in your own sunlight. Ask about wet-area suitability, cleaning and sealing for that specific product. Drainage, joints and changes in level also need to be resolved as part of the installation.

Plan with confidence

Project questions, answered.

Should I choose travertine or concrete pavers?

Travertine has natural stone variation; concrete pavers offer their own color and pattern choices. Compare the exact samples, finish, care guidance and proposed pool-edge details, along with your budget. Neither material should be treated as universally cool or slip-proof.

How should I choose a color?

Place samples next to your pool tile, exterior walls and landscaping. Review them in sun and shade, and discuss heat perception and underfoot comfort using the exact product. Screen photographs alone cannot settle color or comfort decisions.

Do I need matching coping?

Coping should be planned with the deck, but it can coordinate rather than match exactly. Compare profiles, dimensions, finish and edge transitions with your pool professional. Confirm the chosen coping and deck materials before ordering.

What about sealing?

Sealing depends on the particular product, finish and intended use. Ask for product-specific care guidance and, if a sealer is proposed, confirm its compatibility and effect on appearance and wet-area use. Do not assume every stone or concrete surface needs the same treatment.
